The Crown Hotel is a tile hung listed building in the centre of the New Forest?s principal village of Lyndhurst. It is traditionally furnished in a low-key English manner. There is a welcoming and stylish restaurant serving food to rosette standards and a comfortable paneled bar which offers less formal meals.
The Forest Lodge was built in 1820 as the Dower House of Northerwood Estate and was used as a Hunting Lodge by King George IV. The Hotel still retains much of its Georgian architecture and stands in 1.5 acres of grounds overlooking the New Forest Golf Course. The elegant Forest Restaurant offers excellent menus complemented by a varied wine list and for leisure the Forest Lodge offers an indoor heated leisure pool, sauna and fitness room.
